You Said It Better Than Anyone Ever Could, RK Laxman

What will happen to the 'Common Man' now? RK Laxman's mostly 'mute' Common Man would pass through life flabbergasted at the idiosyncrasies of society. His satire summed up perhaps better than any 500-page book could ever hope to, the precarious position of the aam aadmi in the times of red tape-ism, corruption and power politics.

No politician was ever spared the pinch of his acerbic sketches. He was undoubtedly one of India's most influential cartoonists, the creator of the original aam aadmi and a hero to almost all of India. He gave us a voice, when we thought we had none and India's going to miss its brightest artist who ruled with nothing but a mighty pen.
