Why this condom brand wants you to #TurnOffToTurnOn
This ad has got over 7 million hits on YouTube in two weeks... Condom maker Durex released this ad for Earth Hour.

What started in 2007 as a lights-off event in Sydney has grown into a massive global movement. Organised by the Worldwide Fund for Nature or WWF, the Earth Hour now engages over 7000 cities across the globe where people & businesses turn off their lights as a symbol of their commitment to the planet. This year Earth Hour is on March 29 - between 8:30-9:30 PM - local time.

So what has a condom maker got to do with all this? The central theme of the ad seems to be how technology is keeping people apart. It shows couples together  busy with their smartphones and laptops - and not engaging with each other - even whilst being together in a room or a park or a train compartment or  in a limo going to get married.

The ad to encourages people to reconnect when the lights are out with its #TurnOffToTurnOn campaign.
