The crocheted flower seller has become an internet sensation.

A street vendor selling crocheted flowers has gone viral on social media after sharing a heartfelt and progressive view on gender equality during a conversation with a content creator.

The video, shared on Instagram by content creator Sonali Singh, shows her asking the vendor whether he believes women face oppression in society. The man immediately agrees and speaks openly about the way many women are treated in relationships and at home.

He says that many husbands expect their wives to handle all household work as if it is their only responsibility. He also criticises men who cheat on or abandon their wives after childbirth, saying such behaviour comes from an unhealthy obsession with physical appearance and a lack of understanding about the physical impact of pregnancy.

A text shown in the video captures Singh's reaction to his remarks. It reads: "An educated English-speaking man might have said no."

The video has received widespread praise online, with many viewers applauding the vendor for his honesty, emotional intelligence and strong support for women's dignity and equality.

Singh shared the clip with the caption: "Respecting women is a character thing."

Several users were clearly impressed by his personality, with one noting that his speaking skills and confidence could outshine even many educated individuals. A third praised his elegance, saying that money cannot buy such class, and described him as one of the most refined individuals they had seen online, adding that he surpassed many educated people in that regard.
