Mumbai: A 35-year-old man working in a shop was on Wednesday shot dead and his brother was seriously injured when two unidentified persons barged into the shop and fired at them at Girgaon in South Mumbai, police said.

The assailants barged into the shop near Bharat Steel yard at Khetwadi area and fired at Lalchand Bishnoi and his brother Ratnakar (40), killing the former on the spot, said Joint Police Commissioner (Law & Order) Rajnish Seth.

One bullet hit on Lalchand's chest, while the other hit on Ratnakar's leg, police said adding that the two were rushed to nearby Harikishandas hospital.
