Leopard Seen Near Army Hospital In Meerut, Forest Officials Informed

Meerut: The locals in the Chhavani area in Meerut were worried today after a leopard was seen near the Army hospital, a forest official said.

The leopard was spotted around 8 AM at C block of Race Course Marg, near the Army hospital, conservator of forests, HK Awasthi said.

Army personnel and forest officials reached the spot and cordoned off the area.

Mr Awasthi said the area has been sealed as a precautionary measure and people have been cautioned not to venture there.

Forest officials have been alerted in Meerut, Noida and adjoining areas and the hunt is on for the leopard.

Superintendent of police Om Prakash said the schools in the area have been closed as a safety measure.
