Lucknow:
A 19-year-old youth died when he jumped into the Gomti river following a chase by the police after he was allegedly found gambling in Hasanganj area, police said today.
The police found Arjun indulging in gambling with some other youths near his house yesterday and chased him, they said.
To save himself, he jumped into the river and drowned, police said, adding that his body was later fished out with the help of locals.
Further investigation is on into the matter, they said.
