Capsule and pod hotels are the new emerging travel trends in today's world. They offer compact, individual sleeping spaces on a budget. This type of hotel originated in Japan as a cheap, basic option for overnight accommodation for business professionals. This trend has now found its way to India and has gathered popularity. Travel vlogger Somya shared her experience at NapTapGo - a capsule hotel in Noida Sector 62 but it was only until Mahindra Chairperson Anand Mahindra that this concept hotel got the attention. In a thread on X (formerly Twitter), Somya posted pictures of the hotel's facilities and gave a sneak peek of the pod-style accommodations. She revealed that she stayed in a pod featuring a single bed, charging ports and an entertainment screen with other basic amenities.
Located in Noida within 16km of Pragati Maidan and Humayun's Tomb, the NapTaoGo pod hotel offers a pod with all basic amenities like a shared lounge, a shared kitchen, and free Wi-Fi throughout the property. The accommodation provides room service and a 24-hour front desk for guests. All guest rooms come with an AC, a microwave, a fridge, a shower, free toiletries and a desk.

I've always thought that the capsule hotel concept (first seen in Japan) would be ideal for the expansion of functional & clean hotel rooms in India, giving a filip to budget travel.
But how many of you agree? Would you find this claustrophobic? https://t.co/00Uq9E8mXh
Reacting to Somya's post, Anand Mahindra appreciated the Japanese-origin concept and described it as “pretty cool”. He also highlighted the benefits and how it would be a game-changer for functional affordable accommodation in India. He wrote, “That looks pretty cool.
