Through the course of test shoots and flash lights, beauty becoming a second language is highly likely. Shraddha Kapoor agrees with us. Along with being a talented star, Shraddha Kapoor has announced being a Brand Ambassador and Investor for MyGlamm. Which makes this the ideal time for us to dish on beauty and makeup with the star herself. NDTV Swirlster spoke to Shraddha Kapoor about beauty icons and makeup tricks she has picked up as a Bollywood actress.
NDTV Swirlster: Makeup almost becomes second skin to a celebrity who spends a lot of time in front of a camera. Your thoughts on this?
Shraddha Kapoor: Makeup is an essential part of what we do. However, I am grateful for some amazing people in my life like my mother and my make-up artist Shraddha Naik who are always there to guide me and make sure I don't go overboard. Trusting your makeup artist and their guidance is key. Having said that, I ensure I remove my makeup and let my skin breathe as often as possible.
NDTV Swirlster: Who in Bollywood has the best makeup skills?
Shraddha Kapoor: In the industry, my beauty icons are my aunt Padmini Kolhapuri, Waheeda Rehmanji and my mom. Even though she didn't do more than one movie, she is my no.1 beauty icon.

Shraddha Kapoor: I deeply resonate with the MyGlamm's clean beauty formulations and the cruelty-free promise as that is something I feel passionately about. When MyGlamm approached me to be the face of the brand, not only was I excited but also decided to invest in the brand. As an entrepreneur with an interest in the industry, I have carefully been studying the DTC beauty market and it is growing rapidly. I believe it is the future. NDTV Swirlster: Who are your beauty icons from Hollywood?
Shraddha Kapoor: Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts and Natalie Portman. I also love that Alicia Keys has taken up a very minimal approach when it comes to her makeup.
NDTV Swirlster: What's a makeup trend that you will absolutely not try?
Shraddha Kapoor: I think it would be just having too much makeup on. Heavy eyes with heavy cheeks and lips is usually a recipe for disaster. I myself have been through a phase of getting the bold eyes done along with a blush, lip colour, contouring, highlighter and lip gloss but you live and learn!
NDTV Swirlster: Which is one makeup product you recommend for someone who likes light and easy makeup?
Shraddha Kapoor: The MyGlamm Treat Love Care Anti-pollution Foundation is a fabulous solution for everyday makeup in the city. I recently tried the MyGlamm SUPERFOODS Kajal and I instantly loved it. It has everything you want in your everyday kajal but what I really liked about it is that it is enriched with avocado oil which is extremely nourishing. NDTV Swirlster: What is a makeup trick that you've picked up on the job?
Shraddha Kapoor: The makeup or skincare hacks I have discovered on set are definitely all thanks to my hair and makeup artists. There are more preventive measures that you can take in order to get the look you want. They are the experts in this, and taught me that you should refresh your makeup after 6 hours maximum. Avoid putting too much product on your hair as it weighs it down and can actually do more damage and you might not get the desired look. It's also important to remove your makeup and let your skin breathe as often as possible. Lastly, applying ice on your face is a great and quick solution as it helps with the tightening of the skin, instantly reduces puffiness and leaves your skin feeling fresh.
NDTV Swirlster: Do share a special beauty tip that someone in your family passed down to you.
Shraddha Kapoor: My mother is someone I go to for beauty advice. I have adopted the 'less is more' lifestyle from her.
NDTV Swirlster: What is a camera-friendly makeup tip to share with your fans?
Shraddha Kapoor: I avoid using too many products and stick to what works for me. I'm really loving the minimalist approach to beauty like just applying mascara, a little bit of concealer and a lip tint or even going completely bare faced. I am loving this trend in beauty and have happily embraced it.
