So how does the CTM routine help your skin?

First of all cleansing helps to get rid of dirt, grime, stale makeup and impurities from your skin. Throughout the day your skin is exposed to sun, dirt, pollutants, dead skin build-up etc. So when you use a face wash or cleanser morning and night, you ensure that your skin is able to breathe. All the dirt and dead skin is removed, the pores are clean. This also helps in the skin renewal process, and gives you a clean, radiant look.

At first go for cleansing

Then toning helps to condition your skin and tighten pores and remove excess sebum from skin. Swiping and dabbing your face with a good toner ensures that your skin is hydrated and conditioned. It also minimises open pores and prevents clogging. It creates the base for your skin to better absorb the nutrients from your day cream of night cream. It also balances the skin and restores skin's natural pH.

After cleansing it should be toning

Moisturising your skin amply replenishes lost nutrients and hydration. Using a relevant moisturiser helps to nourish skin and repair skin's natural moisture barrier. A good moisturiser supports skin's natural collagen structure and helps in the skin renewal process. It also takes away the feeling of dryness and tightness, which can damage skin. Using a combination of serum and face cream ensures that your skin is able to fight signs of aging like fine lines, age spots, and dullness and skin looks younger longer.

How to build your CTM routine in summer?

Summer means greasy, grimy skin with some damage due to sun, heat and pollutants. So invest in a good cleanser. Use a face wash in the mornings; and a combination of micellar water and face wash for night time routine. Micellar water helps to remove makeup and face wash refreshes skin. For summer use a toner or a facial mist to soothe taut skin and improve hydration levels. If you don't have a toner, even cool rosewater will do the job very well. It is great for calming skin and toning the pores.

Since summer can cause greasiness even in the most dry skin types, so choosing a moisturiser can be tricky. Use a serum as the first step to nourishing your skin. A serum delivers the potent actives into the skin in a more effective manner, thereby helping in protecting skin from damage. Follow this with your skin cream. Look for light lotions if you have normal to dry skin, and gel based variants if you have oily or combination skin. And do not forget the sunscreen, not ever.
