There's rarely a time when actor Sonam Kapoor seems to get anything wrong in the style department. Whether she's dressed for a red carpet event or a night out with her friends, one can expect Sonam Kapoor to be impeccably turned out, most of the time. Seems like this morning was not one of those times, when Sonam Kapoor visited Gauri Khan's store, Gauri Khan Designs, for a shoot for the magazine Brides Today. Sonam Kapoor's choice of clothes ahead of her shoot was odd, to say the very least. Or, it was at least odd for us to see Sonam turn up in a baggy, unshapely co-ord skirt and sweatshirt.
Sonam is a fan of the anti-fit look and almost always nails the look. This was one of the 'not quite' times:
One might have overlooked the bad judgement on her part if her hair, makeup or even shoes did something for the look she was trying to go for; "which was what?", we find ourselves asking. The print on her clothes, which appeared to look like gift boxes or old school television boxes, we're not sure, wasn't exactly the most appealing either.
Now, we understand the need for comfort and that oversized garments are a thing of vogue, but when making a public appearance, one does expect better from Sonam - simply because her reputation as a fashion icon does precede her. Seeing her turn up in an awkwardly loose outfit, no matter which big and upcoming designer store it might have been from, was strange and definitely away from the usual. Call it the curse of always being ahead of the fashion curve, but what Sonam wears has become something most take rather seriously. When you've proven to constantly be a top contender in the world of fashion, there is, unfortunately, little room for error.
