Coachella 2018: 6 Things We Expect To See

There are music festivals and then there's Coachella. There may be Lollapalooza, Burning Man and Tomorrowland but as a music festival, Coachella has its distinct brand of trending artists, pop culture and California cool. Since Coachella broke into the mainstream, we've come to see the festival and attendees in a light that we've almost come to expect. As Coachella 2018 opens with its first weekend tomorrow, here are six things we definitely expect to see at the festival.

1. The Masses Of Celebrities

As it has grown more and more popular each year, Coachella has also become a meeting ground for Hollywood's young and beautiful. Not only do they come to watch their musician friends on stage, celebrity come to chill with their starry squads, like kind-of regular folk. Through the editions, celebrities like Paris Hilton, Kendall Jenner, Vanessa Hudgens and Joe Jonas have been staples so we can only expect this one to be even bigger.

2. Flower Crowns, So Many Flower Crowns

When Coachella first rose to popularity in the late 00s, it gave festival fashion a new name. An accessory which tied the look together was the flower crown. Bountiful flowers on one's head became a stylish symbol of the festival's chill vibes and slowly trickled down to mainstream fashion. Many, many years later, it's still seen at the festival but we're hoping that this is the one in which festival goers finally toss the crown for some other whacky hair accessory.

3. A Wonderful Line-up

One aspect that makes Coachella stand out from every other music festival is the line-up of artists it has to offer. These are usually comprised of hot and happening names on the music scene. This year, Beyonce and Eminem are some of the festival's headliners while many others including the Weeknd, Kygo, Haim and Cardi B are performing. 4. The Abundance Of Hipster Food

Whether it's the fashion or performances at Coachella, one unifying trait that they all seem to have is it's gimmickry. And that's true with the food on offer as well. Most of it is probably very tasty but also extremely hipster-esque and high on novelty, perfect for the 'gram. This time, expect to see ice cream tacos, mac and cheese pizzas and obviously, plenty of gluten-free, vegan goodness.

5. Trademark Festival Fashion

This is where the term 'Coachella style' was born. It includes fringe vests, muscle tees, body tattoos, head chains and dark lipstick. While its distinct style was only spotted on the festival grounds, Coachella style is now flaunted throughout the rest of the summer too.

6. That Ferris Wheel

Without a doubt, you've definitely spotted the famous Ferris wheel in Coachella snaps. Known as the Le Grand Wheel, it is the world's largest transportable wheel of its kind and has come to be associated with the festival's scenery. Expect to see many more pictures of this beauty this edition as well.
