It isn't just debutants who have descended on the 76th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in 2023. There are the long time faces who are seasoned in the style of the South of France and Elle Fanning is definitely one of them. The young Hollywood star hasn't just acted in movies since was a little girl; she has also graced many a red carpet since then. Elle proved her fashion mettle once again at Cannes 2023 and even went on to make a style statement with her latest look. For a celebrity event, Ms. Fanning picked Paco Rabannne as her designer of choice. Posing against the ocean, Elle's unique designer dress comprised of a metal bustier carved in the shape of flowers held together with a metal halter strap. It merged with pointed silver paillettes, sewn together to create a shimmering fringe over the body of the dress. It belonged to Paco Rabanne's fall/winter 2023 ready-to-wear collection. There's no easy way to classify a dress like this except to call it freaking fabulous. Elle wore it with slinky silver heels, a flushed makeup look and her blonde locks worn straight and centre-parted.

Her first appearance at Cannes 2023 was in an Alexander McQueen gown designed by Sarah Burton. The pastel ball gown featured a petal-esque pattern over the corset leading to a full tulle body. She captioned the photos, saying, "This creation by Sarah Burton is a work of art. It's femininity and strength combined in one deconstructed orchid. Getting to work with Sarah directly on my Cannes look was a highlight of my life. My jaw is still on the floor over each stone beaded by hand and the fact she did this for me! I love Queen Sarah and McQueen forever!"
