It's that time of year when all we see is Cannes Film Festival content everywhere we look and of course, Aishwarya Rai headlining it. In 2023, that isn't any different. For her first appearance on the Cannes 2023 red carpet today, Aishwarya picked a look that took the drama right through the roof. The star wore a silver sequin gown that went the over-the-top route. With a shimmering train of the same fabric, the gown featured a structured hood that was draped above her head. Around her waist was an oversized black bow that covered the length of the dress in the front.

While her dress made the statement, Aishwarya's makeup was streamlined. She went with a matte red lip, shimmery champagne lids with black eyeliner. Her hair was parted down the centre and worn straight.

We aren't even a little surprised that Aishwarya left us stunned because well, she does it annually. The global star has been a fixture at Cannes for decades now and was one of the earliest Indian representatives at the festival who is still very much going strong. Earlier in the day, Aishwarya Rai attended to her off-the-carpet duties in a glitzy shade of green. She wore a sequin cape-sleeve style dress with a scarf neckline with clear platform heels. Her signature beauty look of straight locks and a red lip, accompanied it.
Though more Bollywood celebrities have appeared at the French film festival in recent years, no one holds a crowd, or a fashion statement, like Aishwarya Rai can. She's rightly called the queen of Cannes, after all.
