Bollywood star Raveena Tandon may be best known as one of the 90s It girls but since then, she's acquired another title i.e. mom and it's certainly more important. With a brood of 4 ranging from teens to adulthood, it's safe to say that as far as motherhood is concerned, she has experienced it all. At the launch of Nutrinos by MilkLane, which targets children's nutrition, NDTV Swirlster spoke to Raveena Tandon about her experience of being a mom and keeping young ones busy during the lockdown.
"The minute you become a mum, it's of prime importance"
Speaking on the importance of kid's nutrition, Raveena says, "Mums have realised how necessary immunity and its formative base is for our children. No one could have forseen this pandemic and how essential it is for one to have inner strength and antibodies to fight back. As a mom, it's important for me to have the right nutrients for my children's growth, development and strength. From their birth to their teens is when you can most control what they consume. Those formative and foundation years set the base for the probiotics, carbohydrates, proteins and vitamins to be strengthened from inside."

"We grow up with our mums telling us, you'll know when you're a mum"
"You make a bhaji which they don't like and there are frowning faces at the dining table. You're force-feeding them food they don't enjoy. It's an everyday battle to make food that they get excited to eat. Nutrinos comes with goodness, wholesome nourishment and taste. It makes life easy and there's no pressure on parents or children," says Raveena on how fussy eaters can get their dose of nourishment too.
"Women are superwomen; they do everything!"
On the need for a solution that's healthy, natural and still time-saving, Raveena says, "In normal times, everyone was running around meeting deadlines and it's even more difficult for working mums to balance it all. Women are superwomen - they are cooking, working, helping kids with homework and even meeting their own career deadlines. This is something that has made life much easier and food more interesting."
"I've used this time with my kids well"
"We've been watching classic films and documentaries, reading good books, playing games like Pictionary and Scrabble and spending time discussing it all. My son does robotics and my daughter practises her singing. It's given us added time that we won't ever back," signs off Raveena.
