Easy concoctions you can whip up at home in no time

A lot of people fall sick when the weather changes. A sore throat sometimes becomes a cold, a cold and cough becomes a fever; and the next thing you know we are taking medical leaves from work to recuperate. It is always better to nip the sickness in the bud; the moment we sense we might fall sick, we should take something to fight it. And you don’t even have to head to the chemist necessarily. In case you are suffering from a bout of seasonal sickness, here are some home remedies that you can ship up at home and try.

Chicken soup

A rich source of protein, vitamins, and minerals, a chicken soup is not just healthy but also filling. It eases out the sore throat and thins the mucus on the lungs and heals you faster. Make sure you add decent amount of pepper to your soup.

Honey, cinnamon, and ginger

Make a paste out of honey and grated ginger. Heat the mixture in hot water and add a dash of cinnamon to it. You can have this with some lemon as well, as lemon is a good source of vitamin C. Both honey and ginger have medicinal properties. The drink will soothe your throat and help fight the cold.

Spiced tea

One of the most common go-to home remedy to fight cold and cough is a cup of adrak (ginger) and tulsi (holy basil) chai. You can also add black pepper to the tea to fight that chest congestion.

Turmeric and milk

Turmeric or haldi is known to have antibacterial and antiseptic properties. Turmeric mixed with warm milk is not just good to fight cold and cough, but it is also a good remedy to fight body aches.
