5 Skincare Mistakes That Are Ruining Your Skin
Don't make these common skincare mistakes

When it comes to beauty, it's easy to pick up tips and tricks from the internet. Not all of them may be the best idea and sometimes, it's possible that in blindly following them, you've made a couple of skincare mistakes. More often than not, what you read online doesn't take into consider skin types, textures and sensitivities. Unfortunately, that can leads to plenty of common skincare mistakes which in the long run, can wreck havoc on your face. These 5 skincare mistakes are a few of them. If you've ever made any of these errors, start by fixing them right away.

1. Not Reading The Expiry Date

While excitedly purchasing beauty products, keep an eye out for the expiry date. Especially with skincare, their formulas contain active ingredients that spoil after a period of time, post which they need to be disposed and definitely not applied on the face.

2. Skipping Makeup Removal

We've repeated this skincare mistake time and time again but only because it's that important. When you don't remove your makeup, you allow your skin to absorb makeup throughout the entire night. This can result in irritation, pimples and dryness.

3. Being A Blind Follower

The internet has opened many doors for us but it's important to open the right ones. When your favourite influencer or actor flaunts or endorses a new beauty product, don't blindly swipe your card for it. Do a test patch, ask for a sample and only if it suits your skin type, should you then purchase it instead of rushing into it.

4. Ignoring Skin Problems

Ignorance isn't bliss when it comes to the skin. Many a time, skin conditions like acne or rashes are ignored because one thinks they'll get better with time. In such instances, it's better to be safe rather than treat a worsened problem later. Whatever be your skin problem, if it persists for more than 2 - 3 weeks, consult a doctor.

5. Rushing Products

The surge of excitement when using a new beauty product usually lasts a few days. Once no results appear in a week, it's tossed in search of a new one. Does this sound like you? Skin cells take a minimum of a month to regenerate so don't use a new serum for a week and expect to see a difference. Commit to it for a month at least to slowly see results on your skin.
