If you are trying to eat cleaner and healthier, one of the first recommendations is to eliminate dessert. Most desserts are packed with processed sugar and filled with empty calories that don't keep you hungry for too long. It may be surprising to note that healthy desserts really do exist. They try as much as possible use natural sugars and healthier ingredients so that when you do try them on your cheat day, you won't actually feel so sinful.

1. Nice Cream

No, you didn't hear us wrong. Nice cream is the healthy sister of ice cream so the next time you get a cold craving, try this instead. To make it, add 3 frozen bananas, 2 tablespoons peanut butter and 1 teaspoon honey in a blender, mix until it smoothens and serve immediately.

2. Skillet Cinnamon Apples

What is even better than the divine warmth of apple pie is when it doesn't come with carbs. To make this dessert that tastes like apple pie filling but is healthier, peel and dice 2 apples finely. In a pan, heat 2 tablespoons of coconut oil. When hot, add the apples, mix with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder and devour warm.

3. Chocolate Bark

With this recipe, everyone's favourite chocolate gets a healthy, wholesome upgrade. To make a chocolate bark, first chop half cup of hazelnuts, half cup of almonds and scatter them evenly over a baking pan lined with baking paper. Melt 250 gms of dark chocolate, add in 3 - 4 drops of vanilla extract and stir until liquid. Pour it over the baking sheet, put it in the fridge for 1 hour minimum, then break into shards and eat.

4. Peanut Butter Balls

Not only does this make a delicious dessert, it's a great pick-me-up for the middle of the day too. To make it, add half cup peanut butter with 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, quarter cup almond flour and 1 teaspoon honey in a mixer and blend until smooth. Remove, roll into balls and freeze for an hour before eating.

5. Sorbet

Another healthy version of an ice cream is a sorbet, except that it's without processed sugar or milk. Make it by adding together 2 cups of frozen strawberries with 2 tablespoons honey and 1 cup of finely crushed ice in a mixter. Blend until smooth and serve immediately.
