One of the most troublesome tasks about making dessert is its final step i.e baking. Baking can be tricky and leave you confused about how long it needs to be baked for, the right container or proper temperature for it. 1. Yogurt Pops
A more filling variation of popsicles, this simple dessert is ideal for summer days, especially for kids.
Ingredients:
1 cup vanilla yoghurt
1 cup cream cheese
3 tablespoons chocolate chips
3 tablespoons peanut butter
Method:
Blend the yoghurt and cream cheese together and fill popsicle molds with it until a quarter full. Then sprinkle chocolate chips, followed by more yoghurt mixture, followed by a spoon of peanut butter and then finished with more yoghurt mixture. Do this for all the popsicles, freeze for a minimum of 2 hours and serve immediately.
2. Chocolate Brownies
No, all the best brownies don't necessarily come from the oven.
Ingredients
2 cups dates
2 cups walnuts
Three quarter cup cocoa powder
Sea salt
Water
Method:
In a food processor, blend the walnuts until they form a crumb. Then add in dates, cocoa powder and a pinch of sea salt and blend until it forms a fine crumb. Add in little water at a time and mix so that the mixture becomes damp but not dripping wet. Press tightly into a pan, freeze for 2 hours minimum , remove and cut into bars. Garnish with a layer of melted chocolate with crushed walnuts and serve.
3. Lemon Pie
Tart, delicious and mind-bogglingly quick to make for yourself.
Ingredients:
1 can condensed milk
1 packet of Marie biscuits
Quarter cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
1 cup whipping cream
Method:
While unopened, crush the biscuits inside the packet into a fine crumb. Use it as a base and press it tightly into the pan for the pie. In a large bowl, use a spatula to fold the condensed milk into the whipping cream and lemon juice until mixed thoroughly. Pour into the crumb-lined tin, freeze for 4 hours minimum and serve.
