Press Note by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited

Bangalore: Read the Press Note released by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL):-

Today early in the morning at 7.10 AM the train operator observed a plastic packet laying on the via duct between peir no 101 and 102 on CMH Road. Immediately the same was intimated to the Operation Control Centre. The Station Controller at Halasuru also informed the Police station. After availing the power block the same was removed. SAFETY BEING THE FIRST PRIORITY the operations were suspended at 7.28 A.M and after removal of the offending material operations were restored back at 8.03 AM.

On preliminary investigation it was found that the plastic packet contained the banana leaves used for food consumption. Such acts of vandalism hinder the Operations, putting our patrons to hard ship due to requirement of ensuring proper disposal of the offending matter.

BMRCL appeals to all the people along the corridors of Namma Metro to abstain from such acts as they cause inconvenience to fellow citizens due to suspension of services to ensure safety precautions. If people are found guilty of such acts that are likely to endanger safety of any person or the metro systems due to act of vandalism , he shall be punishable with imprisonment for life or with rigorous imprisonment for a term which may extend to ten years as per Section 74 of the Metro Railway (Operations & Maintenance) Act 2009.

I hereby appeal to all my press and Media friends to give wide publicity of the incident and the appeal of BMRCL to the public to refrain from such acts.
