West Bengal Police Raids House Used By Burdwan Blast Suspect

The building where the blast took place is located in Khagragarh area

Burdwan: The West Bengal police last night raided a house in Burdwan district in connection with last week's blast that left two dead and one injured.

The house was found at a walking distance from the Khagragarh house where the October 2 explosion took place. According to the police, interrogation of those arrested last week led them to the house in Babaubagan area.

The investigators suspect that Kauser, whom the CID is looking for in connection with the blast in which two suspected militants were killed and another person was
injured, had resided in the house.

When the investigators reached the house, they found the door locked from the outside although lights and fans were on, giving the impression that the occupants had left in a hurry, Superintendent of Police SMH Mirza said.

The CID had released Kauser's sketch on October 5 and sent it to all the police stations of Burdwan and nearby districts and railway stations to nab him. He is suspected to be a regular at the house in
Khagragarh where the blast took place.

The investigators are trying to find where the explosives recovered from the Khagragarh house were supposed to be sent. Four persons, including two women, have been arrested in connection with the blast.

Sheikh Hakim alias Hasan Saheb from Lalgola in Murshidabad district, who was injured in the blast, was arrested yesterday.

Hafez Mollah alias Hasan, Rajira Bibi alias Rumi, widow of the suspected terriost Shakil Ahmed who died in the blast and Amina Bibi, Hasan Saheb's wife, were also arrested.

State Director General of Police GJM Rajasekhar Reddy had said yesterday that a detailed report was being sent to the Centre by West Bengal government in connection with the blast.
