Stock Market Highlights: Indian equity benchmarks pulled off a 180-degree on Thursday. After starting the trading day in deep red, both Sensex and Nifty bounced back in green. Earlier in the day, markets witnessed a sharp decline at the open as oil prices climbed more than $4. The oil rally was came after US President Donald Trump said the United States would continue to attack Iran, including energy and oil targets over the next few weeks, and did not commit to a specific timeline to end the war.
At the open, Sensex fell over 1,400 points while the Nifty was down 400 points. All sectoral indices were in red at the open. However, both the indices pared losses as the day progressed. This comes a day after both BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty50 ended Wednesday's session on a positive note, signalling an overall upbeat market mood.

Sensex, Nifty Live: Check Expert View By Investor AI
Mildly bullish
The Thesis
The Iran de-escalation is redrawing the playbook. With Brent sliding toward $100 and VIX crashing 10 per cent, InvestorAi is positioning for a post-conflict rotation - energy producers still earning at elevated crude, IT services riding global confidence recovery, and domestic consumption plays unlocked by easing input costs. The PCR at 0.77 signals room for further upside as residual shorts unwind into the relief rally.
Where We're Concentrated
Three clusters dominate: IT services (highest confidence across the book), energy and power infrastructure (upstream oil plus grid/renewables), and domestic demand (insurance, retail, logistics, auto). This is a bet on normalisation - India's growth engines reigniting as geopolitical risk reprices lower. The thesis breaks if de-escalation reverses and crude spikes back above $105.
Conviction Picks
Max Financial Services HIGHEST CONVICTION
Insurance stands at the centre of the risk-on rotation - falling VIX and renewed equity appetite drive inflows into protection and investment products.
ONGC STRONG CONVICTION
Best of both worlds - Brent at $101 is still hugely profitable for India's largest upstream producer, while de-escalation removes the tail risk overhang.
Oracle Financial Services HIGHEST CONFIDENCE
IT services are the quality play in the relief rally - global banking technology spend recovers as risk appetite normalises post-conflict.
Avenue Supermarts (DMart) STRONG CONVICTION
Falling crude directly eases supply chain and logistics costs for India's most operationally leveraged retailer - consumption recovery starts here.
Delhivery
Logistics infrastructure benefits from both the consumption recovery and lower fuel costs - a direct play on the domestic demand thesis.
One Thing to Watch
Brent crude at $100. A decisive break below confirms the war premium is fully unwound and turbocharges the consumption rotation. A bounce back above $105 signals the geopolitical discount isn't done - and invalidates half the book.
