'Modi Ji Falsely Accusing Us. Congress And I Won't Bow Down': Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress President Sonia Gandhi and son Rahul appeared in a trial court today in the National Herald case where the hearing was adjourned in under 5 minutes. The Gandhis along with other accused in the case were granted bail on a surety bond of Rs 50,000 each.

Sonia and Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference shortly after the hearing. Here are the highlights.

Sonia Gandhi

• I appeared in the court with a clear conscience just as any other citizen would do.
• The country's laws are without any fear and equal for everyone.
• The BJP government is targeting the opposition and are using government for it.
• Our political opponents are attacking us. We know them very well. This has been going on for generations.
• We will not be scared, our struggle will continue. I have no doubt that the truth will come out.

Rahul Gandhi

• I respect the law. We will continue our fight for the poor and the weak. We are not going to take even one step back.
• Modi Ji is falsely accusing us. He thinks the Opposition will bow down. I want the people of this country to know, Congress and I will not bow down.
• We will fight back and continue to be a strong Opposition.

Dr Manmohan Singh

• We are united in support. We will give a determined fight because we stand for certain values.
