Sonali Bendre Accused Of Land Fraud By Pune Farmer, She Denies Charge

Actor Sonali Bendre and her husband, Goldie Behl, have been accused of fraud and violation of regulations in connection with a land deal involving approximately 30 gunthas of land in Maval, Pune.

Local farmer Chandrakant Shinde claims that his family has held ancestral rights to the land, which has been purchased by Goldie Behl, since 1957, and that this acquisition was carried out illegally by disregarding those rights. 

Sonali Bendre and her lawyers have denied these allegations. The actor asserts that her name does not appear in any government documents or land sale-purchase papers. 

These allegations are entirely baseless and have been leveled solely with the motive of extorting money, the actor claimed.

The farmer has filed a petition regarding this matter in the Civil Court of Vadgaon Maval.

Chandrakant Shinde and his family claim that they held legal rights to the 30-guntha plot of land, approximately 32,000 square feet, located in Uksan before the year 1957.

In his complaint, Shinde further alleged that an attempt was made to carry out illegal construction on the land in question, and that his family was threatened. 

A formal complaint was made to the police. 

However, as the dispute was of a civil nature, the courts were subsequently approached.

The farmer has requested the court for a stay order on this land. 

According to the actor's lawyer, Raju Shinde, the farmer had previously filed appeals multiple times with government departments -specifically the Tehsildar and the Sub Divisional Officer (SDO) - all of which have been dismissed by the courts.

Chandrakant Shinde has named Sonali Bendre, Goldie Behl, and two other individuals as parties in this matter. 

The court posted April 20 as the next date of hearing.
