Raje leaves for Delhi to end stand-off
New Delhi:

Summoned by BJP central leadership, Vasundhara Raje on Sunday left for New Delhi along with some of her supporters for crucial talks aimed at ending a standoff in the party over her refusal to resign as Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly.

Raje on Monday will meet senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu, appointed as the pointsman to defuse the crisis sparked after BJP President Rajnath Singh asked her resign as Leader of Opposition following the party's defeat in Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.

The party's central leadership had on April 28 summoned her to the capital to meet Naidu after which Raje had affirmed her loyalty to the BJP saying she was a "disciplined soldier" of the party and its order was "supreme" to her.

The former Chief Minister, who claims the support of 70 of the 78 legislators, had said she would like to go for talks as quickly as possible to sort out the problems.

Some of Raje's supporters including Rajendra Rathore, Dushyant Singh and Digambar Singh are accompanying her.
