Rahul Gandhi delights Lucknow kitty party
Lucknow: It was a kitty party in a restaurant here that women attending will remember for long.  Much to their delight, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi dropped in at the Aryan Restaurant just in front of the Raj Bhawan for lunch today.

Grabbing the rare opportunity, the women approached the 40-year-old Congress leader for a prized snap. And, Gandhi immediately obliged them with a smile, said restaurant owner Rahul Khanna.

"Today being a holiday, we were not expecting many guests at this hour and were taken by surprise to have a VVIP and it was an honour to have him as our guest," he said. Gandhi's menu included fresh lime soda, chicken kathi roll and some Chinese dishes, Khanna said.

"All appreciable" wrote Gandhi in the comments register of the restaurant where he spent 25 minutes enroute to the airport to catch a flight for Delhi concluding a three-day visit to his Amethi Lok Sabha constituency.

Khanna said though he declined to take money for the food, Rahul ensured that his bills were paid.

Gandhi met Governor B L Joshi at the Raj Bhawan, which senior Congress leader Akhilesh Pratap Singh said was a  courtesy call. Earlier, in Amethi, Gandhi visited the family of Lal Bahadur Singh, a senior party functionary from Bhoay village, who passed away last month.
