Prashant Kishor Scripted PM Modi, Nitish Wins. Next, a Revealing Book

New Delhi: Prashant Kishor, whose current success rate as election strategist is 100 per cent, is writing a book on elections and the Indian voter. His publishers promise it will be "revelatory."

The upcoming book, whose title has not been revealed yet but will be released next year, created a buzz on Twitter after Chiki Sarkar of Juggernaut Books, tweeted about it on Monday and Tuesday. The book, "dissects what influences Indian voters today, their aspirations and what they now demand of their leaders," according to the publishers.

Mr Kishor is credited with designing the election campaign of Nitish Kumar in the high-stakes Bihar assembly elections held last month. Mr Kumar is back as the state's chief minister with the Grand Alliance he led taking home 178 of Bihar's 243 assembly seats.

The election pitched Mr Kumar in what became a direct contest with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose campaigns Mr Kishor had designed for the Gujarat assembly elections 2012 and then national election last year. Both were highly successful, with Mr Modi posting big wins.

For the Bihar election, however, Mr Kishor switched sides teaming up with one of PM Modi's most bitter critics and political rivals. Nitish Kumar's alliance restricted PM Modi's BJP and its allies to only 58 seats.

Post the big Bihar victory, Mr Kishor has reportedly received feelers from other political leaders, including Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who will seek a second term in assembly elections next year.
