The posters have been put up ahead of a visit by Sonia Gandhi. She will attend a function commemorating 125 years of the Congress party, after which she's scheduled to address a public rally.
The posters line the route she's likely to follow.
This is Sonia Gandhi's first major appearance in UP after the general election results which saw the Congress making significant gains in the state. The strong showing is attributed to Rahul Gandhi who has spent considerable time visiting Amethi and other parts of the state.
