Srinagar:
Police is addressing a presser on violence in Kashmir after Burhan Wani's killing.
Here are the highlights:- Short while ago there was militant attack on police camp in Pulwama
- Cases of arson and stone pelting against police posts, minority camps attacked
- Attempts to forcibly enter security force camps. Sad that lives has lost
- 8 people have died as a consequence of the attacks and 96 security personnel were injured
- Situation is bad in certain areas of south Kashmir. North Kashmir is not so critical
- The focus is on making an appeal to the people to stay calm
- When we were closing on target house (in Burhan op) there was firing from inside
- There was retaliatory fire. 3 terrorists were killed, one of them was Burhan Wani
- Even when entire police station was set on fire we did not retaliate
- Three of our policemen are still missing
- Yatra will be resumed as soon as we ensure safety of the Yatris
