LIVE Parliament Winter Session 2025: Following chaos by the opposition over the demand for discussions on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and other issues during the Zero Hour, Lok Sabha has been adjourned till 12 noon.
Earlier, as the Winter Session of Parliament commenced , Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings to the Chair and members, calling it a moment of pride for the House.
"Respected Chairman, the Winter Session is beginning today and it is a proud moment for all members of the House. It is a proud moment to welcome you... On behalf of the House, I heartily congratulate you. And I wish you all the best," he said.
The winter session of the Parliament is slated to continue until December 19 with 15 sittings planned over 19 days.
The government is preparing for a packed legislative agenda, planning to introduce at least 13 bills, including key proposals linked to the economy and national security. Among the significant bills expected to be tabled are the Central Excise Amendment Bill, 2025, and the Health Security National Security Cess Bill, 2025.
Meanwhile, the Opposition is gearing up to push the government on the SIR issue, security matters, and other unresolved concerns.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE: Want Parliament To Run, Says Trinamool Congress, Demands SIR Discussion
The Trinamool Congress told the government that it wanted the Parliament to run but it must "reciprocate" by allowing the discussion on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
At an all-party meeting attended by party's Leader in Rajya Sabha Derek O'Brien and Lok Sabha MP Kalyan Banerjee, a demand for discussion on SIR was raised by the Opposition.
"We are ready to cooperate in running the House provided treasury benches also cooperate with the Opposition. We want more time allocated to the Opposition during the Parliament session," Banerjee told reporters after the meeting.
