Nepalese Man's Body Found Near Uttarkhand's Yamnotri Shrine

A Russian trekker and his guide had discovered the body around 8 kilometres beyond the Yamnotri shrine.

Dehradun: The body of a Nepalese man was recovered from the trekking trail to Saptarshi Taal in Uttarakhand, about 180 kilometres from Dehradun on October 3.

A Russian trekker and his guide on October 1 had discovered the body around 8 kilometres beyond the Yamnotri shrine.

The rescue operation was launched on October 2 after they informed the district administration in Uttarkashi that they had come across a dead body while crossing the rock-strewn glacier.

Around 26 people from the police, National Institute of Mountaineering and the State Disaster Response Force were sent to recover the body.

After hours of trekking and exhausting all their equipment, the team managed to bring back the body.

Officials said the man was identified as 26-year-old Ankit K.C, son of Devendar K.C a resident of Lalitpur in Nepal.

SO Badkot talking to the media said that the body of the nepali person has been sent for postmortem while his family has been informed in Lalitganj of the unfortunate accident.
