Mars mission: President congratulates ISRO for successful launch

India's mission to Mars successfully completed its first stage on Tuesday

New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee today congratulated Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for the successful launch of "Mangalyaan", Mars Orbiter Spacecraft, and said it was a significant milestone that will inspire more scientists to make greater strides in achieving goals. (First pics)

In his message to Chairman of ISRO, Dr K Radhakrishnan, the President said, "This launch of India's first dedicated Mars Orbiter Spacecraft is a significant milestone in the progress of our space programme and space applications. (Who said what) (Live blog)
