Leo wants to fight for the tiger; could come to India
New York: On the face of it, it was a meeting to talk on a variety of issues that concern the environment- from fighting climate change to protection of bio-diversity. But when Hollywood heart-throb Leonardo Dicaprio met India's Minister for Environment and Forests, Jairam Ramesh, his heart was really beating for tiger.

Leo is very keen to lend his name to the cause of saving the tiger. And with India home to more than 50 per cent of all wild tigers left in the world, it could vey well be destination India for Leo. Already working in his personal capacity to save the environment in Papua New Guinea, Leo said he is keen to lend his name to the conservation of the big cat. Kevin Conrad, the special envoy on climate change, Papua New Guinea said, "He wants to lend his name to the conservation of the tiger. There are no details yet, but we are working on that."

Speaking to NDTV, Jairam Ramesh said, "He wants to do something in his capacity. We are still talking to him and he is very interested in it."

There are thousands of tigers in the US found in tiger farms, but Leo has never seen a tiger in the wild. So a trip to India's forests to see the majestic animal in the wild, may be in the offing.
