Srinagar: Terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba is behind Thursday's bank robbery in Pulwama, the Jammu and Kashmir police claimed today, saying they have secured CCTV footage from the bank at Ratnipora.

The CCTV footage shows two to three terrorists armed with AK rifles storming the bank and looting close to Rs 10 lakh. Bank employees are seen running for safety in the video.

"Two men barged into the bank and put gun on our head and asked us to hand over the cash to them," said a terrified bank employee.

It was the third major bank robbery in less than a month in Kashmir. More than Rs 25 lakh have been looted from two different branches of the Jammu and Kashmir Bank in Budgam and Pulwama districts.

Police say they have identified that Lashkar-e-Taiba is behind these bank robberies as terrorists have been hit hard by notes ban.

"We have got CCTV footage and LeT terrorists are involved in it. We have identified them. We have also identified the dacoits in earlier bank robberies," said Rayees Ahmad Bhat, Senior Superintendent of Police, Pulwama.

While the police have deployed security in some banks, they say it is not possible to protect each and every bank. The banks authorities have now been asked to inform the police before they send cash to militancy infested areas.
