Jammu and Kashmir Police Upgrading Infrastructure: Director General of Police

Jammu: In order to make it a modern force, the Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) is upgrading its infrastructure with modern facilities that will improve the standards of its personnel, state DGP K Rajendra Kumar said on Wednesday.

"The organisation is upgrading its infrastructural assets with modern living and working facilities. This could strengthen the living standards of the personnel and improve professional policing," Mr Kumar said while commissioning the Model Police Station building at Ghagwal in Samba district.

Stressing on the importance of the police station, he said JKP is focussing on improving its working by modernising methods of investigation, besides infrastructure and communication.

Mr Kumar said the modernisation of the force in all fields of policing has been taken up and various model police stations are being constructed at different places in the state.

"We are on the job and more police station buildings are being constructed to improve our working standards," he said.

The DGP said that in view of the increasing manpower, more buildings have become necessary to enhance facilities for the personnel as per the latest requirements.

A mega construction initiative has been taken up across the state to provide better facilities to the jawans and officers, he said, adding that alternate accommodations have also been made at various places in the state to provide living facilities for the forces.
