Dubai:
A 19-year-old Indian student was killed and six others, including five Indians, were injured when the car they were travelling in hit the compound wall of a school in Bahrain.
Pratik Baldev Raj was killed on the spot Tuesday night when he was thrown out of the vehicle travelling at high speed, the Gulf Daily News reported on Thursday.
A student of Ernst & Young Training Institute, Pratik was the son of Baldev Raj, an employee of Al Jazira Cold Store Company.
The other five Indians sustained minor cuts and bruises, but the driver of the vehicle, a Bahraini named Mahammed Abdulmalik, is in critical condition with shards of glass in his skull.
The other five Indians - Vijay Loyston, Raunak Digambar, Govind Srinivas, Rahul Mahajan and Shaurya Banerjee - study in various parts of India and had come to Bahrain on vacation.
One of the injured said they were coming from the neighbouring area of Adilya, and were going to Manama when the vehicle hit the wall of Dimun School.
