Delhi Satya Niketan Building collapse Live: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday inspected the site of the building collapse in Satya Niketan, where rescue operations are underway

She said preliminary findings suggest that water accumulation in the basement, coupled with repair work on the ageing Satya Niketan building, led to its collapse, which left seven people dead and six others injured.

Speaking at the site, Gupta said around 80% of the debris had been cleared and only rubble from the basement remained. She said authorities were certain that water had collected in the basement and that ongoing repair work on the old structure contributed to the collapse.

The Chief Minister also announced that all dangerous buildings in the city would undergo structural audits. She said no unsafe structure would be ignored and appropriate action would be taken against buildings found to pose a risk.
