Himani Kashyap was rushed by the family to a hospital where she was declared brought dead.
Former BSP minister Hiralal Kashyap today threatened to immolate himself in front of Parliament if justice was denied to his daughter, Himanshi, daughter-in-law of Rajya Sabha lawmaker Narendra Kashyap who allegedly committed suicide.
"The slogan of 'Beti-Padhao, Beti-Bachao' is raised in Parliament whereas an MP's daughter-in-law is murdered... if action is not taken against those guilty and my daughter is denied justice, I and my family will immolate ourselves before Parliament", Mr Kashyap told reporters after performing the last rites of his daughter.
Alleging that Himanshi was killed by Narendra Kashyap and his family over dowry, Mr Kashyap said there were several injury marks on her body and her hair was also pulled indicating that she was beaten up before being killed.
The Rajya Sabha lawmaker along with his wife and son Sagar, the husband of Himanshi, was today arrested under anti-dowry laws as police found "prima facie" complicity of the trio in "dowry harassment".
The Parliamentarian said that he came to know about the incident only through TV and his neighbours.
Yesterday, 29-year-old Himanshi was found dead inside the bathroom of their house in Sanjay Nagar with gunshot injuries on her head.
The daughter of the former BSP minister, Himanshi was married to Sagar Kashyap three years ago and the couple have a one-year-old son.
