BRICS is the acronym for an association of five major emerging national economies.
The BRICS is not a "West vs the rest" model, but rather the grouping is about working together, a senior MEA official said on Thursday.
"People around the world are taking note of BRICS... And, we are just two weeks from the summit. And, lot of talk went around it. But, BRICS is not a 'West vs the rest model' but rather 'West with the rest'," senior MEA official Amar Sinha said.
"BRICS is a work in progress," he added. He was speaking at event held at the Press Club in New Delhi to launch BRICS Press Club Network.
Ambassadors of South Africa, Brazil and senior official from Chinese and Russian Embassy were present on the occasion.
