Here's a brief chronology of what happened at the Government-Team Anna talks last night. It led to a bitter exchange between the two sides later:
- After members of Anna Hazare's team arrived, Pranab Mukherjee apprised them of what happened at the all-party meeting
- Pranab conveyed all decisions taken at the all-party meeting to Team Anna
- Salman Khurshid then explained the three steps being taken to end Anna's fast
- Both sides decided to meet at 12 pm today
- Team Anna wanted to continue the talks all night
- Discussion started on timeline for enacting - Government asked for a reasonable timeline that Parliament could follow
- Government conveyed opposition to timeline from other political parties
- Government promised that once a reasonable timeline is decided, it will stick to it
- Then talks moved on how to end Anna's fast
- Team Anna said his fast will go on till the bill is available in some form and demanded a full Jan Lokpal Bill, not a fresh amended draft
