Air France in another discrimination row

Mumbai, Paris:

Ten more passengers have alleged discrimination against French carrier Air France. This is the second incident in less than twenty days where passengers have accused the airline of bias and are planning legal action against the airline.

While Air France has apologized for the inconvenience caused, the passengers say they intend to take legal action.

When asked about his experience, passanger Jagdish Patankar says it was "highly discriminatory. Very inhuman, very insensitive."

Jagdish Patankar speaks of his ordeal of travelling with Air France to Mumbai via Paris.
The flight he boarded with 9 other Indians from Washington was first delayed by 3 hours after it developed a technical snag.

The result: They missed their connecting flight to Mumbai.

Patankar claims that only the 10 Indian nationals on the flight were not given transit visas and were told to wait inside the sanitised area over night.

Patankar says: "We were first made to wait without food and water for 5 hours."

Patankar says a severely diabetic patient was even denied medical aid.

Finally, after they protested, they were put on an Emirates flight to Mumbai. Air France says it's conducting an inquiry and has apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers.

This is the second group of passengers to allege biased behaviour by the airline.

On 12th May, 55 Indian passengers had also claimed discrimination.

Air France has offered them redeemable tickets worth 350 euros. But the passengers NDTV spoke to say they do not plan to accept it and are planning legal action.
