- Firing occurred outside Elvish Yadav's house in Gurugram early Sunday morning
- Two unidentified gunmen fired at least 12 shots before escaping on a bike
- Elvish Yadav was not home during the incident, and no threats were reported
Firing was reported outside the house of controversial YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT winner Elvish Yadav in an upscale locality of Gurugram early this morning. Three unidentified attackers arrived on a bike at his house in Sector 56 around 5:30-6 am. Two of them fired at least a dozen shots and escaped.
The notorious Himanshu Bhau gang has taken responsibility for the firing in a social media post, accusing the YouTuber of promoting gambling.
Mr Yadav was not at home at the time of the firing; the police said he had gone outside Haryana for some work. The caretaker of the house and some family members were inside, but no one was injured in the firing. The YouTuber has not filed any complaint yet.
The firing targeted the ground floor and first floor of the house. Mr Yadav lives on the second and third floors.
His father said he was not aware of his son being involved in any gambling promotion and that he had not received any threat.
"The police are here. I was sleeping when the firing occurred. About 25-30 shots were fired. Elvish didn't get any threat. Three men were seen on the bike on CCTV, while two (of them) were seen at the gate," Ramavtar Yadav told reporters.
The police have reached the Yadav residence and collected evidence. CCTV footage from the nearby areas is also being scanned. The police said that legal action has been initiated, and further action will be taken after the family lodges a complaint.
Meanwhile, taking responsibility for the firing, Rao Inderjeet Yadav of the Himanshu Bhau gang said that the firing was carried out by gangsters Neeraj Faridpur and Bhau Ritoliya. Those who promote gambling must be ready for a call or a bullet, the gang warned with a photo of two pistols.

This follows a firing at Haryanvi singer and rapper Rahul Yadav alias Fazilpuria's car was shot at last month. Fazilpuria had escaped unhurt in the incident. Days earlier, his close aide Rohit Shaukeen was killed in broad daylight in Gurugram. Gangster Sunil Sardhania of the same Himanshu Bhau gang had claimed responsibility for the murder.
Mr Yadav has been a controversial figure in the influencer circle. He was arrested last year for allegedly organising a rave party in which snake venom was used as a drug. A parallel probe was later launched against him by the Enforcement Directorate, and he was questioned under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
