Varun Dhawan's October will go on floors in September

On Tuesday morning,
Varun Dhawan, one of the most bankable stars of Bollywood, made an announcement on his Instagram account to his 9.9 million followers. The young actor, who is busy shooting for his father
David Dhawan's Judwaa 2, has finalized his next film, titled
October. It's a slice of life love story, which will be
directed by Shoojit Sircar. It's written by Juhi Chaturvedi, who has written
Vicky Donor (2012) and
Piku (2015) for Mr Sircar. The film goes on floors in September.
Varun Dhawan, who is excited about working with Shoojit Sircar for the first time, said. "I have been an ardent fan of Shoojit
da's work and have always wanted to work with him.
October is a beautiful story in which I play a character with many layers. It's a difficult character to play. I just want to surrender to my part and show people a new side of me. Shoojit
da, Ronnie (Lahiri) and Juhi have always made good cinema I feel I feel grateful to join their team."
Shoojit Sircar, who has directed
Vicky Donor, Madras Cafe and
Piku and also produced
Amitabh Bachchan's Pink, is looking forward to this love story, "It is a genre that I have always wanted to delve in. While love and romance have been entwined with Indian cinema, there is abundance in that emotion that everyone can have their own interpretations of. Juhi and I have always tried to create stories from the reflections of real life moments that we see around us. October is another effort to explore those moments out of simple situations of life."
Varun Dhawan's next release is his father David Dhawan's
Judwaa 2, in which he plays a double role for the first time.
Judwaa 2, which also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu, is scheduled to release on September 29.
