Toxic Advance Booking: Yash's Film Sells 4.7 Lakh Tickets, Nears Rs 30 Crore

The buzz around Yash's upcoming film Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is already translating into strong numbers at the ticket counters, even before the film hits theatres. The action thriller has made an impressive start to its booking. With over 4.5 lakh tickets already sold for the opening day, the film is now inching closer to the Rs 30 crore mark in pre-release collections.

Toxic has so far grossed Rs 18.84 crore from more than 4.73 lakh tickets sold across 12,609 domestic shows, as per a report in Sacnilk. The Kannada and Hindi versions are leading the pre-release business, contributing Rs 9.6 crore and Rs 7.72 crore, respectively, through their 2D formats. Premium screenings, including Kannada IMAX and 4DX, have also added to the film's earnings.

Toxic's Day 1 advance booking gross has reached Rs 27.38 crore, including blocked seats, and is expected to comfortably cross the Rs 30 crore mark if the current momentum continues.

Karnataka is leading Toxic's Day 1 advance booking, emerging as the film's strongest market with Rs 10.69 crore collected across 1,744 shows. The state has also recorded 742 nearly full shows, three days ahead of the release.

Gujarat has the highest number of shows at 2,319, followed by Maharashtra with 2,189. However, their advance booking collections remain comparatively lower at Rs 1.17 crore and Rs 1.33 crore, respectively. West Bengal, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are also contributing significantly to the film's pre-release business, with earnings of Rs 89.51 lakh, Rs 87.92 lakh and Rs 80.29 lakh, respectively.

Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups features a massive star cast including Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria and Rukmini Vasanth. The film releases in theatres on August 26 in Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
