London: Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle has forgiven the teenage burglar who stole cash from her home.

The former Britain's Got Talent contestant returned to her house in West Lothian, Scotland in January to find an intruder in the hallway.

A 16-year-old youth later admitted a charge of theft for stealing USD 13.50 from the house, and was ordered to hand over USD 150 to Boyle's chosen charity.

But the 49-year-old singer admits she pities the teenage thief because he must have been "desperate" to turn tocrime, reported Daily Record.

"It was such a shame to find I'd been burgled but, apart from shaking me up a bit, nothing personal had beentaken. It's a shame that people get that desperate in life. It makes you realise how fortunate you are," said Boyle.
