Bhoomi marks Sanjay Dutt's comeback to the big screen after a gap of five years. The 57-year-old actor is returning to films after completing his five-year jail term in relation to the 1993 Mumbai blasts. He last made a cameo appearance in Aamir Khan's PK (2014). Bhoomi, directed by Omung Kumar, also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, television actors Sharad Kelkar and Sidhant Gupta in pivotal roles. The film will explore the relationship between a father (Sanjay Dutt) and daughter (Aditi).

Speaking about the song Trippy Trippy, the director said, "The song comes at a crucial juncture in the narrative and we wanted only Sunny for it," reported PTI.

On Monday, the makers of Bhoomi unveiled the first poster of the film. The black and white poster partially features Sanjay Dutt's face covered in blood.

Bhoomi was earlier scheduled to release in August. However, its release date was postponed and it will now hit the theatres on September 22.
