Sonam Kapoor's mother Sunita Kapoor is on cloud nine today. After all, the actress delivered a spoken word performance at King Charles III's Coronation Concert. The event, which took place a day after the historic coronation held in Westminster Abbey, was organised to celebrate the monarch. The actress took the centre stage at the Coronation Concert as she introduced various choir performers of the Commonwealth. Now, Sunita Kapoor has shared a video of Sonam's speech on Instagram along with a note. Sharing the video, the happy mother wrote, “So proud! Such an honour.” Replying to the post, Sonam said, “Love you”. Her cousin, actor Arjun Kapoor dropped red heart and applause emojis. Their uncle, actor Sanjay Kapoor gave a shout out to Sonam and said, “Great honour.” Maheep Kapoor, Karan Boolani followed suit. Actress Neelam Kothari Soni wrote, “This is such an honour” along with a bunch of applause and heart emojis.
Sonam Kapoor, who was introduced as one of the biggest Bollywood celebrities, began her speech with “Namaste”. She said, “Namaste, our Commonwealth is a union. Together we are one-third of the world's people. One-third of the world's ocean. One-quarter of the world's land. Each of our countries is unique, and each of our people is special, but we choose to stand as one, learning from our history. Blessed by our diversity, driven by our values, and determined to build a more peaceful, sustainable, and prosperous future for everyone, where every voice is heard.”
Sonam Kapoor, the OG fashionista, also shared details about her stunning dress. She wore a floral off-shoulder gown which was a collaborative vision of two of her favourite designers Anamika Khanna and Emilia Wickstead. Sharing pictures of herself, the actress wrote, “ Historic moments call for fashion moments. I'm honoured to mark the unforgettable occasion of the #Coronationconcert by wearing the collaborative vision of two of the most incredible designers from the two countries I'm lucky to call home. @anamikakhanna.in@emiliawickstead.” Sonam's mother was the first person to drop a comment under the post. She shared a bunch of red hearts. Shanaya Kapoor followed suit. Shanaya's mother Maheep Kapoor simply wrote, “Love” under the post.
The Coronation Concert was also attended by Tom Cruise, Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger and tubby little cubby Winnie the Pooh.
