The film will revolve around a common man's fight against power distribution companies in the country. Shahid Kapoor will portray the role of a lawyer, who raises his voice against power distribution companies. The female lead of the film will be seen playing Shahid's philosopher and guide, who joins him in his fight for justice.
The film will be directed by Toilet: Ek Prem Katha's director Shree Narayan Singh and is written by Rustom's scriptwriter Vipul K Rawal.
If Katrina features in the film, she will be sharing screen space with Shahid for the first time.
The source also told mid-day: "The creative team loved the fresh pairing of Shahid and Katrina. She is in Los Angeles to apparently chart out her debut in Hollywood. Once she returns, she is expected to sign on the dotted line after finalising the dates and remuneration."
Katrina Kaif will be seen Tiger Zinda Hai, co-starring Salman Khan. The film is a sequel to Katrina and Salman's Ek Tha Tiger. She is also currently prepping for Thugs Of Hindostan, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan. Katrina recently started filming Aanand L Rai's yet-untitled film, starring her Jab Tak Hai Jaan co-stars Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma.
Shahid Kapoor is prepping for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's much-awaited film Padmavati, in which he will be seen portraying the role of Rani Padmavati's husband Rawal Ratan Singh. Recently, Shahid delighted everyone by sharing the first look of his character from the film.
Padmavati is scheduled to release in December this year while Katrina's Thugs Of Hindostan will hit the theatres on November 7.
