Kangana Ranaut in a still from Queen
Mumbai:
Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, who is receiving rave reviews for her performance in her latest film
Tanu Weds Manu Returns, says people's opinions don't make a difference to her.
Asked if people's outlook towards her has changed ever since she charmed the audiences and critics with
Queenand now
Tanu Weds Manu Returns, she said, "Other people's opinions do not matter to me, if they did matter, I wouldn't have lasted till now."
"If I would have got affected, I would be full of irrational doubts. I do have a strong sense of what can be achieved and what cannot."
However, she minced no words when she spoke about the change in people's perception after her role in
Queen.
"People felt I was talented. I was surprised because I thought everyone knew from before that I was talented. With films like
Once Upon A Time in Mumbaai,
Woh Lamhe,
Life in a... Metro,
Tanu Weds Manu and
Queen, I kept proving myself," she said.
"I thought there was no doubt about my acting abilities. So, the reaction after
Queen was a revelation to me," she added.
Kangana, who had earlier bagged a National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for
Fashion, said she wasn't expecting the Best Actress National Award for
Queen.
