Already faced with dwindling attendance in cinema halls across the state, Malayalam filmmakers appear shaken as the two latest releases are available for download on YouTube. Complaints have now been filed with Kerala Police to withdraw these films from Internet.

Salt and Pepper have already been downloaded by now more than one lakh people.
Aashiq Abu, director of
Salt and Pepper, said that he has petitioned cyber police and they have taken the complaint seriously.
"We have already asked YouTube to see that this is removed from the site and we are expecting that it will be done. We wish those behind this are taken to task," said Abu.
To filmmakers' relief, one of the first things that actor-turned-minister for cinema K.B. Ganesh Kumar did was to create an anti-piracy cell of police.
Speaking to the media, Suresh Kumar, producer of
Rathinirvedam, said: "As soon as we got the news that my film is available on the internet, we registered a complaint with police here. Nothing has happened to our complaint."
"Piracy is killing the industry," said Kumar.
