"I remember J Dey as a cheery chap who covered a dirtybeat. Gentle giant, we called him at the Express. Always had ajuicy scoop to share!," Film critic Rajeev Masand tweeted.

"Shocking news: just in that Midday Reporter J Dey hasbeen shot dead. Truely a sad moment! RIP Deyji," actressMinissha Lamba said.
